Glioma
Glioma is a common form of malignant brain tumor. There were approximately 47,000 new cases of glioma in the United States, Japan, and Western Europe in 2007 (Datamonitor 2007). A Phase 2 study of Aptocine for the treatment of glioma was completed in February 2008. The study demonstrated the safety of Aptocine and confirmed the zone of tumor destruction with escalated light doses following intraoperative treatment of primary or recurrent glioma.
